MTV Roadies

MTV Roadies is a youth-based popular reality television show on MTV India. It is an Indian version of the original show, Road Rules (1995). Roadies 11 will start in 2014 and Raghu is rumoured to not be in it.
When asked about the show, executive producer said, "Roadies has travel, adventure, drama, touch of voyeurism.

Format

 The fifth season was the first time when an "Advantage task" was introduced. The winner of the "Advantage task" gets some advantage in the vote out, which may include multiple votes or being the only one(s) to vote. There are also some "Karizma Tasks" which can also be one of the other tasks. By winning the "Karizma Task", Roadies can win a Karizma Bike.Raghu Ram and Rajiv Laxman [Twins] are two people who usually take the personal interviews for this reality show. They are well known for their frank behavior and free usage of slang and abuses with the interviewees and the contestants. They claim that it is to motivate them and get the best out of them. They are also well known for their qualities in judging the interviewees and ability to motivate them with courage

Trivia and Statistics

• Anthoney Yeh, Ashutosh Kaushik and Palak Johal are the only winners in the history of the series to have not been voted out during their respective seasons.
• Vikas Khoker is the only winner to have been absent from his season for a maximum of 5 vote-outs.
• Only three females have managed to accomplish a win over the course of a total of ten seasons. These are Parul Shahi, Aanchal Khurrana and Palak Johal.
• While season 1 had the lowest number of contestants, being 8, Season 7 had the highest which was 23.
• Palak Johal and Mohit Saggar are the only roadies in the history of the show to have made it to the finals twice. While Mohit finished as the 3rd Runner-up, Palak went on to win the season.
• Season 4 and 10 brought in the highest amount of ratings and viewership with an average TRP of 2.89 and 3.27 respectively. While Season 5 season 7 and season 9 have been the most poorly rated seasons of the series to date with an average TRP of 1.54 1.78 and 1.12 respectively..

   Ratings and Reception  The tenth installment of the series was well received by the critics and audiences. Times of India credited the new concept as "remarkable and exhilarating with a twinge of constant drama". The new format for elimination is considered to be the main reason for the sharp rise in the ratings. Veterans from previous seasons made an appearance as a part of Team Raghu seeking vengeance for their earlier defeat. The Unfinished business concept proved to be a game changer and a revitalizing comeback after the disappointing ninth season. Critics commended contestants for using their personal vendettas as strategy to progress in the game. Season 6 veteran, Palak Kaur Johal, was highly appreciated for her sneaky demeanor throughout the competition. IBN Live regarded Palak as the "Star of the season" commenting on her persistent strategic game-play knocking out some of the strongest competitors. The renowned news website also added "She did it again. She completed the journey and made her way into the finals yet again. From adding drama to performing tasks she's very consistent at all of it.
